Woven Cupro Fabric
Cupro is a biodegradable textile fiber. It is made from short cotton seed fibers that cannot be processed into cotton yarn and would otherwise end up as waste. For a long time, the production of cupro was banned because it required copper and ammonia. However, the Japanese company Asahi Kasei has optimized the production of cupro to the point where the large quantities of water and chemicals remain in a closed loop until they are completely exhausted. The chemicals used are then free of toxic or hazardous compounds for health and the environment.
Our Turkish supplier weaves the fibers from Japan into a fabric characterized by a silky yet warm touch—this is 100% cupro.
