Cupro Fabric
Cupro is a biodegradable textile fiber. It is made from short cotton seed fibers that cannot be processed into cotton yarn and would otherwise end up as waste. For a long time, the production of Cupro was banned because it requires copper and ammonia. However, the Japanese company Asahi Kasei has optimized Cupro production to the point where large quantities of water and chemicals remain in a closed loop until they are completely exhausted. The chemicals used are then free of toxic or hazardous compounds for health and the environment.
Our Italian supplier processes the fibers from Japan into a fabric characterized by a silky yet warm touch.
