Cupro fabric Cupro is a biodegradable textile fiber. It is made from the short cottonseed fibers that cannot be processed into cotton yarn and would therefore end up as waste. For a long time, the production of cupro was forbidden because it requires copper and ammonia. However, the Japanese company Asahi Kasei has optimized the production of cupro to such an extent that the large amounts of water and chemicals remain in a closed cycle until they are completely exhausted. The chemicals used are then free from toxic or dangerous compounds for health and the environment.
Our Italian supplier processes the fibers from Japan into a fabric that is characterized by a silky yet warm feel.
Outlet tip Since we only need small quantities for the current collection, we were able to purchase the high-quality lace from the outlet of the Swiss manufacturer Bischoff Textil. In the future we will use recycled lace.
